I always ask my clients in depth questions about their sleep patterns as it is such a good indicator of what might be out of sync and why other symptoms are occurring.
It is surprising how easily we accept and adapt to disturbed sleep and how common it is to suffer from various forms of insomnia.
In Chinese Medicine we distinguish between different types of insomnia such as:
-difficulty going to sleep
-waking in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep
-frequent vivid dreams disturbing sleep
-waking in the early hours of the morning and not being able to go back to sleep
-not being abel to sleep in general
Each of the above types of insomnia is related to a specific energy imbalance and will be treated differently. There is no quick fix to long term insomnia issues ,a course of acupuncture treatments is recommended. The good news is that acupuncture can really help!
Many clients report a sense of calm and relaxation they have not felt in a very long time whilst having acupuncture and the accumulative effect of the treatments can resolve many long term sleep problems.
