Acupuncture and sleep problems

Sleep issues are something I hear clients complain about very often. It’s one of those things we tend to adapt to—until it starts affecting everything else. Poor sleep can impact mood, digestion, hormones, energy levels, and even how we relate to others.
I always ask about sleep, even if someone comes in for something completely different. It’s such a good indicator of what might be out of sync underneath the surface.
How Acupuncture Can Help
In Chinese Medicine, sleep problems are rarely just about a busy mind. They’re usually a sign that something in the body’s energy system is out of balance.
Acupuncture works by gently nudging the body back into harmony. It calms the nervous system, regulates hormones, and helps shift that chronic tired state so many people are stuck in.
We often look at the Liver, Kidney, and Heart meridians, not the physical organs, but the energetic pathways connected to emotional processing, vitality, and mental clarity. When these meridians are out of balance, sleep can become disturbed and restless.
